Sailing vessels, bridge trestles, sea blue sea all combine in this abstract work based on images from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

My work-study from high school through college consisted of being an artist’s model, waitress, bartender and caterer. When I was drawing the model in the class, I could feel the weight, the balance the curve of their bodies, as if I was drawing myself.

Drawing and photographing children has always been a favorite. I love the way they can be so present. I took a lot of b/w photos of children back in 1978 while backpacking through parts of South America, then worked those images into my studio work.
